A blog may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about a landscape company. However, we are so happy to be entering into the blog world with our very own Sol Landscaping blog. We want to share the knowledge that we have worked so hard to gain through years of hard work.
We thought we would start our blog with a little bit about who we are.
Sol Landscaping is proudly owned and operated by Roberto Diaz and Sarah Ftichar. Roberto was originally born in Mexico and lived for several years in California before travelling to Calgary in 2007 for what was supposed to be a short-term project.
While in Calgary, Roberto met his future wife, Sarah, and never looked back. Roberto has over a decade of experience in grading, landscape design and installation. Roberto's attention to detail, unparalleled work ethic and commitment to perfection makes him a rarity in the landscaping world.
Sarah was born and raised in Calgary. She attended the University of Calgary and, after receiving her degree in Political Science, worked on a variety of Special Projects throughout her professional career. Sarah and Roberto now have three beautiful children, three dogs - Viejo, Bijoux and Coco - a cat called Chester, 20 hens and one rooster.
We started Sol Landscaping in 2012 as we knew that we had the right skillset, focus and determination to best serve Calgary and surrounding areas.
Roberto draws on his extensive experience with stone work in Mexico, and his time spent in commercial landscape and snow removal. Ever the artist, Roberto carefully crafts beautiful designs for clients with a unique perspective from his years of experience. Sarah works behind the scenes, preparing quotes, organizing receipts, creating marketing tools and doing all of the prep work that comes with the day-to-day operations of Sol Landscaping.
Over the years, we have met some amazing clients, members of the Sol Team and suppliers. We look forward to the future and continuing to share happiness, one yard at a time.
